Tarifix Intelligence, Inc. ("Tarifix," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our tariff intelligence platform.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name and email address
- Company name and size
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers)
- Phone number (optional)
Product Catalog Data
To provide our tariff classification and exposure services, you upload:
- Product descriptions, SKUs, and categories
- Materials and country of origin
- Unit costs and import volumes
- Supplier information (if provided)
- HTS codes (if you already have them)
Usage Information
We automatically collect:
- Log data (IP address, browser type, access times)
- Feature usage and interaction data
- Pages viewed and actions taken within the platform
- Device and operating system information
Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide our services — Classify products, calculate tariff exposure, model scenarios
- Improve our platform — Enhance classification accuracy and user experience
- Communicate with you — Send service updates, security alerts, and support responses
- Process payments — Bill for services and manage your subscription
- Comply with legal obligations — Respond to subpoenas or legal processes
How We Share Your Information
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We never sell, rent, or trade your product catalog, supplier information, or tariff exposure data to third parties.
Service Providers
We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate our platform:
- AWS — Cloud infrastructure and data storage
- Anthropic — LLM-powered product classification (product descriptions only)
- Stripe — Payment processing
- Postmark — Transactional emails
These providers are bound by data processing agreements and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Business Transfers
If Tarifix is acquired or merged, your data may be transferred to the new entity. You will be notified of any such change.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- AES-256 encryption at rest
- TLS 1.3 encryption in transit
- Multi-factor authentication for employee access
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
- SOC 2 Type II certification (in progress)
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
Access and Portability
You can export your complete product catalog and classification data at any time via CSV or API.
Correction
You can update your account information and product data through the dashboard.
Deletion
You can delete your account and data from Settings → Data & Privacy. We will remove all data within 30 days, except what we're legally required to retain for compliance (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).
Marketing Communications
You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or updating your preferences in account settings. We will still send transactional emails (e.g., password resets, billing notices).
Do Not Track
We do not track users across third-party websites. Our platform respects Do Not Track browser signals.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion:
- Product catalog data is deleted within 30 days
- Account information is deleted within 90 days
- Billing records are retained for 7 years for tax compliance
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely
Children's Privacy
Tarifix is a business platform not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it immediately.
International Users
Tarifix operates in the United States and stores all data in AWS US-East region. If you access our services from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice on our platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
